I wish I could say i was personally involved in every butt-saving mission but I can't.
I CAN say, though, that you guys on the ground had our utmost respect and admiration for the work you did.
Each and every mission I was on was over Laos or Cambodia. I was personally involved in only 2 close air support events. we were called off planned target to interdict for a small group who were being overrun by a much larger group. Both were in Laos at night. We were able to destroy the enemy and the "friendlies" were able to continue with their mission. I say "friendlies" because not all of them spoke like they were from West Texas, if you know what I mean.
The rest of my missions were search and destroy along the Trail. We were looking for trucks and storage bunkers.
Anyway, God bless each of you and I'm damn glad you're home.
