Did anyone watch the ABC special on last night profiling several of the units (and personnel) in Afganistan. Had 505 PIR from the 82nd, and 3rd SFG. along with several support elements. Was real good. Wife asked me how come the 82nd was clean and high and tight while the Special forces were bearded, only partial uniformsand lookedlike Afgans. Spent the rest of the evening trying to explain different missions. It finally came down to "Oh, I guess they are kind of like you and the Sergent Major huh." ( SGM Jim Farrell 5th GP and MAC SOG) Retired as SGM of the Ranger School at Ft Benning. Not really sure what she meant by that but I said Yes Dear, and she replied"I understand".
