Another interesting point was that the Russian Hind choppers had killed so many
of the transport mules that the CIA had to buy mules and ship them to the
front. Even sent some good Tennessee mules. There were some protest when it
was found that, and I know of no nicer way to put this, the Afghans were having
sex with the mules we sent them. All was cleared up when they learned that it
was socially acceptable to have sex with a mule as long as one assumed the
