Thumbs up POW/MIA Day

1-10-2022

Our Nation could not possibly exist were it not for the heroics of those who gave it their all – “Our Magnificent Prisoners of War and our Missing in Action!” So why is it, “I ask you”, that so many of our gallant military are not recognized on all calendars by “This Nation of Ours” - that could not possibly even exist - were it not for them and their valiant sacrifices?

Granted - “Veterans Day, November 11th” is rightfully celebrated, but September 16th (POW/MIA Recognition Day) is not afforded the same solemn appreciation, in my opinion –

“Why Is That Exactly?”

It seems to me (in my opinion again), that “Our Prisoners of War and Missing in Action”, should also be afforded “A National Holiday”, and this in order to commemorate their service! After all, what greater sacrifice can any man or woman make than to give up their lives for “Our Nation?” And even though “POW/MIA DAY” is listed on most calendars, it still seems to me that it should be declared “A National Holiday”, for who could possibly have given up more than those who never returned home after valiantly serving this (Their) Nation? And naturally, a multitude of patriots served within “Our Military” between 19 April 1775 and now, and many were even maimed or died, in service to “Our Nation”, but what of those troopers whose honorable fate is still known but to “The Almighty Himself?”

Do they not also deserve “A National Holiday” to commemorate their sacrifices as well, and not just a date that is marked upon some calendar of time!? And finally, and granted once again, we do celebrate “National Military Service” on “Veterans Day”, but it is still my opinion that “POW/MIA DAY” should (and must) also be celebrated as - “A National Holiday!”
