Just got contacted by an old friend.
Old friend from Ft Devens wrote me a note on FaceBook. He was a mortician in civilian life when he got drafted. The Army made him a mortician in Vietnam. He and his crew handle all Vietnam deaths the year he was there. He was from PA. Stationed at Ft Devens to serve out his 2 yr obligation. I don't even remember what he worked at, at Devens. Really fine person. I don't know if he received any medals while in Vietnam, but he should have. He had the worst job you could have. Didn't talk much about it. Like I said, he was a good soldier.
