They SF recruited specialized MOS's
I was recruited for Special Forces in 1969 with an MOS of 71M20, I was also an E-5 at the time and wasn't interested because I was almost ready to get out. I was told I would have had to go to jump school and take some special forces classes. But with three months left I wasn't interested and I had no plans to re-up. I wanted to get married and complete my education. That being said, I know they did recruit certain MOS's.
