?AND NERO FIDDLES ON - THE LIGHTER SIDE!?
While ?Dear Old Mother Earth? continues to heat up (politically and geographically), according to a New York Times News Service item, many within the world community are proclaiming bewilderment as to what could possibly be causing this ?Potentially Lethal - Geo-Scenario!??
Some pseudo experts claim that it?s greenhouse gasses (some of them political generated) that are causing the problem, while other say that it is a bi-product of the ?Industrial Revolution? and ?Carbon-Based Fuels!? Yet others, of course, point their crooked little fingers at naturally occurring phenomenon!? And there are always those who see this as a message from the gods - ?THE END IS NEAR?, so to speak! ?Yeah sure, and Mars is going to invade too, with the Emperor Ming himself in command!??
Well, one thing is a dead certainty, it being that, should we continue to de-glaciate, much of our ?Water World? may soon be ruled by Davie Jones or Poseidon! Just think of it, much of the world could someday be run by a bunch of flounders or sea-snakes!? ?Hell, come to think of it?!?
Getting serious for a moment, just think about the lethal possibilities of a nearly (totally) flooded planet? No fresh water supply to drink or bathe in (not that some would notice), flooded (unusable) farmlands (ergo - no barley or hops to brew beer with), no breathing room for an expanding human (world) population - all huddled closely together on a rapidly shrinking land mass! (Pass the nose plugs, deodorant and mouthwash!) And naturally, in such a crowded world, flatulism would be a felony punishable by death! ?Would this mean that the practice of international politics and law would become lost arts?? (Just a question?)
?On the other hand, look at the bright side!? Most of our low-lying enemies would be feeding the sharks, and those who invested in land in Denver, Colorado or Prescott, Arizona (both currently over a mile high), would make a fortune selling beachfront property! And if by some miracle, the Island of Alcatraz is still poking it?s nose above the surface of the sea, maybe they could relocate the United Nations there? ?Now That?s A Natural!!?
