It could have been me . . . . . .
We had a large fire in a downtown building. I took my crew in to lay down water at the base of the fire. We had gone about ten feet into the building when the roof collapsed. Those big timbers just missed me by six inches or less. We backed out of there post haste. I told the chief "no one is going in there until the fire and building has been stabilized.
