In australia there was going to be a takeover of Coopers a few years back but the buyers bid bellied up.
Reason:
Shareholders boycotted the sale even though the coopers family had the majority of shares.
All employees were going to go on strike if company sold
Transport would refused to deliver any product to company

Bidder for company backed away in end

Coopers still remains South Australian owned

You Americans could take a page and learn from this

If it is sacred, then its not for sale at any price
