Where'd that logic come from?
Jeff, every square inch of the ship is under the crew's controls, exterior and interior to the best of my knowledge. I'd like to know what bright light came up with that idea. Water pump intake valves are pretty essential to the proper operation of a ship. It follows that the crew would be responsible for them or the master at least.
Unless they are saying that because its below the waterline and on hull's exterior allieviates the crew of responsibility. But I don't buy it!
Bill
