I recently came back from a long vacation in Maine. While there, I had the fortunate experience of visiting Fort Edgecomb. It is the only surviving wooden structure from the War of 1812 on the Sheepscot River in Wiscasset, Maine. It was built in 1808 when tensions were building between the US and Great Britain.
