I'm only 50 myself, but it seems to me that if someone was needed THAT badly, vets oughtta be available for "specialized" jobs (on the domestic or foreign fronts), but ONLY if they want to. It's possible a few vets know a trick here or there that might help the kids stay alive and complete their missions. Others could possibly use a bit of change.

Could also be that if an oldster wants to come back, a job in the rear would free someone to show his or her stuff.

I never was in combat, although I spent some time in the Corps ('73-'76), so I know NOTHING: in other words, I don't consider myself a "Vietnam Vet". However, I say that if the government wants combat vets back--in whatever capacity--they should (a) make it damned well worth their time, or (b) leave them the hell alone.
