Question 1918

8-5-2020

A little over a century ago, or roughly around “The Year Nineteen-Eighteen”, yet another great pandemic crept over the face of “Our Great Nation!” And like the deadly shadow of some gigantic and malignantly-hungry beast, this pandemic, “The Spanish Flu” (deadly form of influenza), literally destroyed the lives and the futures of nearly one-quarter of our entire population! People who may have (had they lived), conquered other epidemic diseases and plagues, been the future captains of industry and maybe even the saviors of mankind itself? But then, who really knows for sure, save for the fact that World War I and its aftermath of the “Great Depression”, literally obliterated the potential of some of the greatest and most prolific minds and talents of “The Early Twentieth Century?

But then (once again), who really knows for sure what “Father Time and Fate Itself” may have wrought, especially if some of these “World-Wide Blood Baths” had been averted (cause and effect, so to speak?) “What Fools We Mortals Continue To Be!!"

“You know and after all is said and done; one might think that humanity might have even found the cure for the most brutal and horrific of all human diseases by this point in time, being “Those Infernal, Wars Against Our Very Own Kind – “But Apparently Not?!”

May “The Good Lord” bless and eternally look out after all of those American Heroes who gave their lives and limbs in defense of “Freedom and This Great Nation of Ours!!”
