Danny Lee Fisher

Wilton (NY), Danny Lee Fisher, 56, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Feb 21, 1949, in Lodi, OH, he was the son of the late Elwood M. and Estella M. (Webber) Colledge of Akron, OH. He attended schools in Akron, OH.

Danny served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring as a master sergeant in May 1990 while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division. A two tour Vietnam veteran, he served there with the 93rd Evacuation Hospital and the 3rd Surgical Hospital. During his military career he earned many citations and medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal.

After retirement he worked briefly as a certified nursing assistant for the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

He was a life member of VFW Post 6196, Queensbury; a member of the American Legion Post 70, Saratoga Springs; the 1st Cavalry Division Association and the 4th Infantry Division (IVY) Association.

Danny enjoyed computers, surfing the internet and was most happy reuniting former comrades with friends they were looking for. He was the official webmaster for the websites of the 93rd Evacuation Hospital, the 3rd Surgical Hospital and the 29th Field Artillery Regiment.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Aleta Michelle (Berkowitz) Fisher of Wilton; a daughter, Theresa Ann Fisher of Wilton; a son Danny Lee Fisher Jr. and his fianc?, Lillian Bush of Saratoga Springs; one grandson, James Lee Fisher of Saratoga Springs; two brothers, Richard A. Rauscher and his wife Sally of Seattle, WA and Elwood B. Colledge of Colorado; a sister, Joyce L. Sunyog and her husband Alex of Scott Depot, WV; and many nieces and
nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday (Jan. 4) at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.

Burial with military honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednedsay (Jan 4) at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylersville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Congregation Shaaray Tefila, 68 Bat St., Glens Falls, NY 12801
