I have done my best to support all of “The Presidents of The United States of America”, as this is indeed my country! However, I take great exception to the idea that money alone greases the wheels of democracy, as the overwhelming majority of those who have served “Our Nation” (in one way or another), have been anything but financially affluent!

And for the record, it must also be noted that what goes into the making of a patriot is not something that can always be recognized by a badge of rank, nor is it identifiable by the medals that are awarded by mankind alone! It is a deep and abiding love of country, along with fortitude, and perseverance that makes a true patriot! It is also a never say die attitude, going that extra mile without the expectation of financial rewards, and of course, a patriot is steeped in self-respect!

“Heroes like Desmond Doss of Hacksaw Ridge”, showed that even a quiet man can rise far above what is expected of any individual! And money, economic power, physical stature, or even superficial bravado by itself - can not a true patriot make! For to be a genuine patriot requires a love of freedom, a respect for those who gave their all for our country in times past, and a burning desire to leave our nation just a little better off for our having been here!

“And just how will you personally add to our nation’s luster in this coming year?”
