Default Reckon it's about time...

to start thinking about our next get together.

I do hereby put forward my AO as a possible site.

Location: Normandy Tn. about 10 mi. from I-24 about midway between Nashville and Chattanooga (roughly 1.0-1.5 hr. from either unless you get caught up in rush hour. Paco, Larry, Bob K., James, Doc. Fred, Travis, and Gracie Darlin' have been here.
By the way, Larry, far as I know that herbalist lady is still around but I don't think her husband is any less jealous than he used to be.

In general this area is rolling hills with hardwood forest, lakes, rivers, streams with some farms and small towns.
Fishing can be world class and we have waaay too many deer and turkey.

A few miles down the road is AEDC (Arnold Engeniering Center) which is an Air Force base. They have a hotel there available to military retires and 100%ers. They also have a golf course, skeet/trap range and 1000mtr. rifle/pistol ranges available to gun club members (me) and guests.

For those with an interest in potables, the George Dickel Distillery is about 2 mi. from the house and the Jack Daniels Distillery is about 25 mi. away. Both have tours.

Stones River National (Civil War-AKA War of Northern Aggression) Battlefield is about 30 mi. away and would be of interest to Civil War buffs.

I live about a mile from the Normandy Lake dam (a very large TVA lake). There are two commercial "campgrounds" on the lake that have full facilities including BBQ grills, bathrooms/showers, hookups, etc.; also several boat ramps. Much of the general area is TVA land which is open to the public for hunting, fishing, and (entirely do-it-yourself) camping.

There is a company in the area that rents canoes for fishing and/or float trips on the tailwater.

Whatcha all think?
