Additional Info on Brigadier General Barnard Elliot Bee, Third Brigade - Army of the Shenandoah, Formerly of the 4th Alabama CSA

Born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1824, he graduated from West Point in 1845 - 33rd out of a class of 41. Bee went on to serve on the frontier and in the Mexican War. In March 1861 he resigned and was commissioned a Brigadier General in the Confederate Army on June 17, 1861.
While rallying the 4th Alabama on Henry Hill he said "Come with me and go yonder where Jackson stands like a stonewall." A moment later he was shot in the abdomen and died the next day.
