A Poem About France
We Should Never Forget

Eleven thousand soldiers
lay beneath the dirt and stone,
All buried on a distant land
so far away from home.

For just a strip of dismal beach
they paid a hero's price,
To save a foreign nation
they all made the sacrifice.

And now the shores of Normandy
are lined with blocks of white:
Americans who didn't turn
from someone else's plight.

Eleven thousand reasons
for the French to take our side,
But in the moment of our need
they chose to run and hide.

Chirac said every war ! means loss,
perhaps for France that's true,
For they've lost every battle
since the days of Waterloo.

Without a soldier worth a damn
to be found within the region,
The French became the only land
to need a Foreign Legion.

You French all say we're arrogant.
Well hell, we've earned the right --
We saved your sorry nation
when you lacked the guts to fight.

But now you've made a big mistake,
and one that you'll regret;
You took sides with our enemies,
and that we won't forget.

It wasn't just our citizens
you spit on when you turned,
But every one of yours
who fell the day the towers burned.

You spit upon our soldiers,
on our pilots and Marines,
And now you'll get a little sense
of just what payback means.

So keep your Paris fashions
and your wine and your champagne.
And find some other market
that will buy your airplanes.

And try to find somebody else
to wear your French cologne.
For you're about to find out
what it means to stand alone.

You see, you need us far more
than we ever needed you.
America has better friends
who know how to be true.

I'd rather stand with warriors
who have the will and might.
Than huddle in the dark
with those whose only flag is white.

I'll take the Brits, the Aussies,
the Israelis and the rest.
For when it comes to valor
we have seen that they're the best.

We'll count on one another
as we face a moment dire.
While you sit on the sideline
with a sign, "friendship for hire."

We'll win this war without you
and we'll total up the cost.
And take it from your foreign aid
and then you'll feel the loss.

And when your nation starts to fall,
well Frenchie, you can spare us.
Just call the Germans for a hand,
they know the way to Paris.

Cadet,

Great words and they mean little to the new generations who have since replaced the old. They know little about the sacrifices made by others in their behalf.

The old guard is moving on and t he French are only worried about today and tomorrow. They only look forward and don't want to remember the issues that put others onto their lands.

Their inability to watch their backs is very limited and someday they will be squashed once again. They are narrow minded and self centered people. I'm 1/4 French my Grand-Mother (God Bless Her Soul) was a fine woman in her own right. She appreciated the sacrifices made by us and others to get their country back but so many have passed on that their kids and Grand-kids can't relate to the past issues that tore up their country.

They don't want to be beholding to anyone. They say they are self sufficient and can manage well without any sacrifices. It's the old mind set - of false illusions about ones countries capabilities of protecting ones-self.

The French have crippled themselves by not standing up and being counted as a nation with scruples. It would have been nice if they would have said "Hey we've had our ass'es kicked - we sure dont' that to happen again!" Of course thats BS they didn't and they won't . They don't have the will power to help others but will condemn those that do.

The French owes us so much money that we could pay off our National Debit in full if collected. Other countries owe us big time as well but we do little to make recovery of such payments given and often times waive those payments owed.

Our good will and charity need to be addressed and sorted out as we can't continue to operate as the worlds "big brother" much longer.

Oil shortages will remain very high - and there is little we can do about it. We've not taken the approprate steps to relieve ourselves of this requirement so we are now being crippled by the necessity of such products.

We've failed to take care of our own because we wanted to save face and show strength to the world. We as a Nation need to pull ourselves back into reality and make our country self sufficient and then worry about others. We can not continue to support those who flip flop their positions and back-stab us later.

Special interest groups need to be taken out of Washington and those who take special interest monies should be terminated from government offices or tossed out of any future government positions for life.

The world is suffering as a whole from all sorts of issues and today we can be anywhere in 12 hours on this planet. People are dying horrible deaths from lack of medical attention. Kids are still starving and we are all fighting over oil and personnel gains.
You tell me - how this will play out?

The French are not my favorite people right now and they are part of a big picture. The troops who gave their lives in their behalf must find it difficult to justify the current situation this whole world is in today.

AP and UPI reported that the French government
announced yesterday that it had raised its terror
alert level from Run to Hide.
The only two higher levels in France are
Surrender and Collaborate.
The rise was precipitated by a recent fire which destroyed
France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing their military.

Would really be funnier if so much American Blood weren't expended,...due such French arrogance and gutlessness (BOTH WAY-BACK-WHEN & NOW).
