![]() It is amazing that the Vietkong did not include the news of General
Tra to his counterpart Mr Rumsfeld in their VTV4 broadvast to Vietnamese abroad Monday 11/10/2003. I don't think that other channels for Vietnamese at home VTV1 to VTv3 contain the news either: It is not nessessarlily due to the Vietkong shielding the news to the Vietnamese at home but in the Vietkng tradition, only visits by the Secretary General of the VCP (Nong Duc Manh), Head of State Tran Duc Luong and Prime minister Phan Van Khai guaranteed top billing in VCP controlled TV, Radio and news papers. For a cabinet minister like General Tra, only visits to "brother" countries like Laos and Cambodia would guarantee to be broadcasted on same day of visit because the writers, announcers at the VCP controlled media know what to say without incurring risk of losing their job(it is always Visit to the brother country of Laos or Cambodia to reinforce the already strong and beautiful bond between our two countries). The USA was a former enemy but not yet a friendly country like France, Sweden etc...certainly not a brother country like Laos or Cambodia so the editors had to be supremely cautious. Same precaution when Vietnamese officials visited China but not Russia, a negligible quantity in Vietnam strategic thinking. These editors are waiting for today when the success or lack thereoff of the visit will be known; and a communique by the foreign office which will be reviewed letter by letter by the Politburo will be given to the public to stick there head out. We can be certain that there will be no live broadcast less some crazy Boatmen mounted some demonstration. The selection of the video clips to be shown will be done at the highest level of the Politburo This is the beauty and transparency of the Communist system !!!!!!!!!!!!! |

![]() Basically comrade NguyenGianViet said:
1. Pham van Tra is not high ranking enough. 2. US is the former enemy. 3. Communist system has no free-speech. I am agree totally with point 3, however, looking at point 1 and 2 in the pass Trade minister Vu Khoan, same rank as Tra, got headline coverage when he visit US on Dec 10, 2001 or External Relations Committee Chairman Do Van Tai, a much lower ranking than Tra, visit US on May 04, 2002 also got coverage. Can comrade NguyenGianViet explain why ??? ![]() MAY BE... JUST MAY BE....
Vietnam is trying to sell some land adjacent to the North border to the Americans ? HAHAHA... Good to have a "big dick" blocking between it and the "big brother". When making a mistake, be sure to make a second one, maybe they cancancel each others out. > > I am agree totally with point 3, however, looking at point 1 and 2 in > the pass Trade minister Vu Khoan, same rank as Tra, got headline > coverage when he visit US on Dec 10, 2001 or External Relations > Committee Chairman Do Van Tai, a much lower ranking than Tra, visit US > on May 04, 2002 also got coverage. > > Can comrade NguyenGianViet explain why ??? > > TL. > > nguyen_viet_2000@yahoo.com (EL CHINO BOATMEN'S CONSCIENCE) wrote in message news:<6ea9eed5.0311110638.45a89c21@posting.google.com>... > > It is amazing that the Vietkong did not include the news of General > > Tra to his counterpart Mr Rumsfeld in their VTV4 broadvast to > > Vietnamese abroad Monday 11/10/2003. > > > > I don't think that other channels for Vietnamese at home VTV1 to VTv3 > > contain the news either: > > > > It is not nessessarlily due to the Vietkong shielding the news to the > > Vietnamese at home but in the Vietkng tradition, only visits by the > > Secretary General of the VCP (Nong Duc Manh), Head of State Tran Duc > > Luong and Prime minister Phan Van Khai guaranteed top billing in VCP > > controlled TV, Radio and news papers. > > > > For a cabinet minister like General Tra, only visits to "brother" > > countries like Laos and Cambodia would guarantee to be broadcasted on > > same day of visit because the writers, announcers at the VCP > > controlled media know what to say without incurring risk of losing > > their job(it is always Visit to the brother country of Laos or > > Cambodia to reinforce the already strong and beautiful bond between > > our two countries). > > > > The USA was a former enemy but not yet a friendly country like France, > > Sweden etc...certainly not a brother country like Laos or Cambodia so > > the editors had to be supremely cautious.
