![]() A Hypocrite? Moi, Barack?
The Cornerites are having fun at President Obama's expense, noting this story in the New York Times: The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat. But wait! Isn't the planet in peril? Isn't it incumbent on all of us to minimize our carbon footprints by turning down our heat and air conditioning? And how about this Obama quote from the campaign: We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.I guess he meant your home, sucker, not his. ... http://www.powerlineblog.com/archive.../01/022681.php

![]() The magnificence of hypocrisy is that it is always a self-fulfilling prophecy, always. Kind of like climbing way out on a limb, sawing on the tree trunk side and hollering “don’t ya’ll get to cuttin on any trees“. Oops, crash ,crash, crash. It is the way of things and as sure as JFK n' RFK pumping on Marylyn, an absolute.

![]() The warmth in the White House has prompted another change: No longer are coat and tie required in the West Wing. The New York Times described the change this way: "Thus did an ironclad rule of the George W. Bush administration ... fall by the wayside, only the first of many signs that a more informal culture is growing up in the White House under new management." Perhaps The Times forgot what happened the last time certain clothing was optional in the Oval Office...

![]() Surely now Griz, you do not refer to the Oval Office cigar tricks and mysterious picnic pitch on some kid interns dress, let alone the famous universal question of all ages; is is, is. To my knowledge, is is, but then I would never be considered a Rhodes scholar so I just kind of go with the flow, so to speak.

![]() Yup, that very same trick crossed my mind. But one must wonder; will the White House staff soon be adorned in those flowery printed shirts and sipping pina colladas?
