![]() Just finished reading a fairly new book about the Ninth Division actions in Vietnam and found it to be the best accounting thus far of what it was really like in that hell hole the Mekong Delta and its' environs.
Written by a fellow by the name of Joseph W. Callaway Jr. who was a platoon leader in Company C of my unit, 2nd Battlion, 60th Infantry (3rd Brigade---"Devils Brigade"). He pretty much served in the same locations I did, Bear Cat----Tan Tru---An Nhut Tan---The "Bowling Alley"----or as we called it "Ambush Alley" where I was wounded in November 1967. Some REALLY bad "JU--JU" in that AO, for SURE! Anyway, the name of the book is "Mekong First Light" by Joseph W. Callaway and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to read what it was really like in the Delta in 1967/68. Best to all, Gimp
