While at least 170 Members of Congress can call themselves millionaires, it takes far more than just a million dollars to land a spot on Roll Call's annual list of the 50 richest lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

This year it required a net worth of least $3.1 million, a Roll Call study of lawmakers' personal finances revealed. Thirty-two Republicans and 18 Democrats made the cut, and the list contains 21 Senators and 29 House Members.

Although the list contains almost twice as many wealthy Republicans as Democrats, the Democrats collectively are worth nearly twice as much as their GOP colleagues. The Republicans are worth a total of $947 million, while the Democrats have a total net fortune of about $1.8 billion.
