the biggest and tallest building in the world??? just asking ...

There are different plans submitted, and it will come up soon for community input. No design has been decided on yet, but the candidates are narrowed down. Two towers, buttaller, are in the running too, so there is truth to that. Some of the models were so beautiful.

I watched an interesting forum on c-span a while back. There was an audience ofthe towersurvivors/relatives with a group of designers on the dais.
At the end it was clear that what the survivors wanted, no matter the design, was a prominent memorial somewhere in the structuretohonor the lost. It would be nice if their wishes are taken into consideratioin. (Mae,beauty is as beauty does) :cl:

tallest building...
no reply to the one comment...he he.
i heard that there are nine different architect companies that have submitted their 'what it should be' scenario and i think two of them have included 'the tallest building in the world'. the decision i believe would be made next year. i was in facilities management for 26 years and two of the most difficult properties for management and security are malls and very tall mixed tenant occupied structures. my opinion....

Mixed Emotions
I would like us to build the tallest building in the world just to show the terrorist they can't beat us. But . . . . on the other hand we might be building a terrorist target. And I'm sure all that will be hassled over.

Why the tallest?
Why not the deepest. At least the energy bill will be cheaper with geothermal power and heating AND where's the target then????
