February 15, 1965 (14th day of the 1st month, Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Advisory): The battle of Mang Yang Pass in II Corps begins: Viet Cong ambush and destroy a large South Vietnamese convoy in the Mang Yang Pass, effecting blocking Highway 19 to Pleiku.

February 15, 1966 (26th day of the 1st month, Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo]) (US Counteroffensive): The 155th AHC supports the 3rd Brigade, 45th Battalion, 23rd ARVN Division in a search and destroy operation north of Ban Me Thuot.

February 15, 1967 (7th day of the 1st month, Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): In Kontum Province, a squad of Americans from Company C/1/12, 4th Infantry Division makes contact with a large enemy force.

February 15, 1968 (18th day of the 1st month, Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Tet Counteroffensive): A/7/17 Cavalry assists the LRRPs in Pleiku Province.

February 15, 1970 (10th day of the 1st month, Year of the Dog [Canh Tuat]) (US Winter-Spring 1970): C Company 8 RAR has a major contact with the enemy of D445 regiment (in the Long Hai Hills of the Minh Dam Secret Zone, I think) and inflict heavy casualties. 34 enemy are killed.

February 15, 1970 (10th day of the 1st month, Year of the Dog [Canh Tuat]) (US Winter-Spring 1970): Operation Cavalry Glory starts in III Corps.

February 15, 1970 (10th day of the 1st month, Year of the Dog [Canh Tuat]) (US Winter-Spring 1970): Operation Hammersley update: 9 Platoon, C Company, 8 RAR leaves Fire Support Base Isa to conduct an area ambush in the Long Hai Hills.

THIRD INDOCHINA WAR:
February 15, 1979 (19th day of the 1st month, Year of the Goat [Ky Mui]): Vietnam says that China is "feverishly preparing for war." Western analysts believe that China now has 19 divisions (150,000 to 160,000 men) and several hundred military aircraft within 40 miles of the Vietnamese border.

February 15, 1985 (26th day of the 1st month, Year of the Ox [At Suu]): In Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge disappear into the jungle, allowing PAVN to capture Phnom Malai for the first time since 1981.

February 15, 1986 (7th day of the 1st month, Year of the Tiger [Binh Dan]): During a meeting in Hanoi with a US delegation, Vietnamese officials repeat their pledge to investigate five sighting and publicly admit the possibility of Americans being alive in remote areas.
