Default when does your hunting season start

Here in Washington state the Archers have had their early hunt the month of september and the Muzzle loaders have had their early hunt the first week of october Now we get a crack at Bambi starting Saturday oct 15th and ending 31 oct then a late hunt just before thanksgiving for 4 days modern Rifle hunting is a challange around here because of the different terraines. Not to many people use tree stands out here mostly spot and stalk. one of my favorite methods is checking along the pirimiters of clear cuts and as far as you can see in the timber with a spotting scope very effective.after the first shots they head into the timber but our clearcuts are so close togeather they can't go along ways without coming out on a nother clearcut. we also will drop people off on one clearcut and then go back and 3 or 4 of us will bust brush through the woods as noiesy as we can and allmost always something goes past who ever is the lucky ones to be waiting. anyway I should have fun this weekend even if I don't get one opening weekend.

Those that want to kill deer are encouraged to do so when ever they get the urge here in SE PA.
We do have deer hunting seasons, but since there are no bag limits on either sex, the official season is a bit silly.

They take a population (of deer) count by county, That depends on how many deer and if they have horns or not. Some countys are Five deer while othere countys are zero, Next year it may be different.
No season on exotic game. seika deer. Axis deer, fallow deer, Elepant, etc.

Bill
Me too, with one exception. Went duck hunting once when a hunting friend of mine dragged me along.
We got up at 0300, half hour later were riding a boat through a swamp. we finally got to the blinds--a sold hard box about the size of a refrigerator. Sat in it, freezing, for hours wating for sommat to shoot at. Finally I heard his cover open so I threw off mine and started blasting--at some seagulls. Turned out he'dcome out of cover to stretch
After that I tole him I'd had about all the fun I could handle, it was time to go.
Ive actually ad the experience of heavily armed men, lots of them hunting me down to kill me. After that everything else seems tame. The fun of hunting depenmds on which end of the barrel youre looking down

I live in the middle of huge private timberlands and evry year at hunting time they open the gates so hunters can drive around. There's deer, elk, wild turkey, coyotes. I took this opportunity to take the 4X4 (Ranger) and tour all the roads. Its like having my 10 acres in the middle of a huge park. Now I know it like the back of my hand.
I'm not a hunter but I AM a shooter. I can step out to my back porch and target shoot. When I hear hunters getting tooo close, I'll fire off a burst to let them know someone's up here with a gun
Stay good
James

Gosh James, you shoulda SAID you needed more sport!

We got some wild boar type critters east a here that can run 800+lbs. of seriously bad news. They come equiped with at least four double-edged daggers and ain't a bit shy about usin em.

I know a fella that-for a price- will take you and 8-12 of his baddest=assed dogs out after one a those hogs. With a little luck-after chasin dogs an hog through the woods and up an down a buch a hills for a couple of hours-that ole rascal will bay (stick his ass in a holler tree or up against a bank or some such)and turn an face the dogs and people that have been givin him such a hard time. He will NOT be happy. If you just hurt him, instead of putting him down all at once,he will be plum tickled ta come on over and discuss with you just exactly how unhappy he is. Now a hunter who is very good (and has really HUGH balls) can kinda ease on over while the hog's attention is on the dogs, catch him lookin the other way-and cut his throat with his huntin knife.

Reckon that'd be enough challenge?

By the way, that fella likes ta get paid in advance, and charges extra for each additional carcuss after the first that he has ta tote outta the woods.

Field report weekend one chris 0 deer big score, it rained no should I say poured all day saturday only seen one deer my cousin seen 1 and my son 3 so we went back and just after day break sunday I way watching some guys drive a clearcut from above and I seen a deer moving out I knew where he was going and waddled my fat ass over to the next ridge but just before I got to where I could see him another hunter shot him, never did get to count the points because I don't walk up hill to look at dead deer unless they are mine. then the monsoons returned and we came home before the evening hunt. oh yeah I forgot to tell you the game warden stopped us and checked for loaded weapons in the truck my son and I left ours at the trailers but due to my supurb people skills tought to me by repeated conciling sessions at the VA I was able to get by with just a verble warning to go back and get them and we did. Man i'm sure glad i learned to talk nice in stead of calling him a natzi rat bastard like I used to do. maybe I'm getting better or all the rain rusted my brain. next week Bambi dies

Chris...good luck! Seems like the time spent with Keith has payed off! Maybe you should give "Brice's Finishing School" a shot, I hear he even teaches you to point your pinky finger when slurping coffee and tea!
