After reading the link listed above, you may begin to realize why even the President referred to the actions of any ?Congressman For Hire? as ?OUTRAGEOUS!?

This Congressman, however, had far more in his illustrious background than a seat in the House of Representatives! He had served in combat, was a genuine war hero, and a proud veteran, not to mention an Ace and a Top Gun! The guy was genuinely likeable, had a good personality, and a great family! ?SO WHAT WENT WRONG?? Does absolute power, indeed corrupt absolutely?

What I found interesting in the article listed above, was the fact that it related that some of the staff members of this elected official apparently knew what was going on, and yet, I see no mention of action against them thus far? The old 1945-1949 Nuremberg scenario perhaps - ?I WAS JUST OBEYING ORDERS?? (Who knows, yet?)

So what drives a man from any party to be totally controlled by politics, power and wealth alone? I know that I was once informed by a now retired (powerful) Senator from the South that I would never hold a job in that town (Washington). To wit, I asked this esteemed gent: ?What in Hades makes you think that I would want one?"

At this same time, a bought and paid for congressional aide informed me that the reason that I would never amount to anything is that I had far too much integrity? Now I do not know how much truth there is in the latter, but I sure became one helluva pariah after I refused to back a youngster for office whom I felt was under-qualified, and when I attacked a million dollar gaming organization that backed and $upported a well positioned public official that I once thought I knew - the manure really began to hit the fan!

Hey, and for the record - the gent that I backed turned out to be little better than the other guy. He liked his young (in the business) babes, and nose candy as well, or so it was reported? Facts that I had absolutely no knowledge of at the time, and needless to say, he too quickly became history! ?You just can?t tell a book by its cover!?

?Competence it seems, is not controlled or horded by any one political party, but then, neither is corruption and greed! I, on the other hand, have a pretty good lock on naivet? and redundant verbosity!? (HRT-18 February 04)

One of my favorite persons (Founding Father) in history is Thomas Paine! He always said what was on his mind (Common Sense), helped to ferment a righteous revolution and our eventually freedom (some may be in the process of being lost), and last but not least, he was a genuine alcoholic! This in itself may be a social ill, but in reality, some of our nations biggest sots, like Paine, Grant, London etc., have given this nation some of it?s finest moments!

Like it or not, politics is politics and
politicians are just being typical politicians.

Look up the words:
political, politician and politics in a dictionary,
you'll note that those definitions don't
display very much of a: "Redeeming Social Value".
Not very much at all, and quite the opposite.

Guess, that if any of such quite oddly and actually
adhered to their oaths to: "We The People",
same would be instead called: "Statesmen",
instead of just: "Lower than whale shit politicians"?

reasonable enough for me, and quite likely also
for any other sane American...for that matter.

Still, You, I, or any other sane and sensible
Americans shouldn't hold our breaths in expectance
of such niceties ever coming to be, or being common
or normally adhered to by America's ruling elite.

Maybe in some other lifetime? Hey,...who knows?

Call me a dreamer, say I suffer from grandiosity, or just call me a damned old fool, but I believe (if we survive that long as a nation) that things will eventually come full circle!

We don't have to give up an entire way of life to regain the good that we have squandered along the way!

The Union Tribune is coming up tomorrow to interview us on the Bill, and Tuesday, we are having another press conference on the Bill as well down in San Diego.

As of this point, we have 34 (most extremely large) military organizations behind the Bill (HR 2369/S2157), 122 Congressmen, 4 Senators, and a membership (Vet orgs) of close to 8,000,000, not counting families and friends!

Now that's many many millions who still cherish integrity, patriotism, honor, etc. "A splendid start in my opinion!"
