Default Ennis , Texas September 23-24

I got two tickets to the Champions club at Ennis drag strip for the http://www.oreillyfallnationals.com/ I'll wave when they put me on the TV.
If Patriot files wants to donate a Patriot file T-shirt I'll wear it.
I don't useually advertise for free.

A friend of mine that owns a auto parts store found that out once.
I bought 4 Big fat Goodyears from him with raised white letters. Before I left I told him white letter in, Blackwalls out.
I came back for the tires and he had them mounted and balenced perfect, except the white letters were out. I told him to take them all apart and put the white letters in, He said he thouht I was Kidding?
An Hour latter I had white letters in ( which I spray painted Black)
He asked me why. I told him that its a matter of free advertiseing. If Goodyear wants me to advertise for them, First they have to ask, Then I have to except, then we will settle on a advertising charge. And lastly the tires must be free.

Ron,

I agree with you on free advertising. I bought a new car and the salesman slapped a dealership decal on the rear bumper. I told him to either remove it or take $500 off the price. He seemed shocked and said that no one had ever complained about it before. I stuck with the options I had demanded and he went to the manager who wouldn't take off the $500 but had the sticker removed. I checked the spot where the sticker had been and found a scratch in the paint and demanded it be repaired. The manager said it was only a minor scratch and gave me a ration of crap about being picky. So I called Chrysler headquarters and told them the story. The next day I got a call from the Service Manager who told me to bring the car in and the damaged paint would be taken care of free of charge. While I was waiting, the dealership manager came over, got in my face, and started ranting about how he was almost fired. I immediately got on the horn with Chrysler and told them what happened. He was suspended for 2 weeks without pay. Last I heard, he "quit".

RD

I bought a new truck from this dealer(lone star Ford) . Before I picked it up I told the guy not to put any Lone Star identifers on my truck. The tuck came in and in a few hours it was ready, IT had Licensplate brackets that were Lone Star, A Lone Star name plate on the Tail Gate , and they drilled out the small mud flaps that came on the truck and put there crome Lone star name plate on .
I told the guy, didn't I tell you not to do that, Take it all off, why? he said. Cause its advertising, Then I told him for $100. a month you can leave them on, He said that The Ford Name was on the truck and that was Advertising, I told him that was my choise, and did he think that Lone Star Ford and FORD are the same thing? Not hardly. I came back in a few hours and the Truck was like it came from the factory. I bought it.
He said , No one has ever complained about this before? I thought he was probibly right, But I don't buy Named T-shirts either, its advertising, If 'The Gap' wants me to wear there T-shirt there going to have to pay me , not me pay them.

I do give free advertising sometimes, But thats my choise.

Servey's are the same thing, that would be marketing information and thats how a company spends its advertising money.
( like , where did you hear about us) Thats marketing information for advertising and thats worth money.

...Any manager, and or dealership personel worth their salt would have asked long before installing any form of dealer logo/plateframe/sticker/form of advertising,etc...

...people don't mind the plateframes, and years ago up here, the metal ones,(dealer nameplate) was riveted to the left front fender as a selling point that you were getting the truck at a lower price, yea right,...

... but now with the cost of everything being as much as houses/property, I 'm not advertising for anyone either, and have seen the nightmares of "improper installation" of such right to where Tom stated it has gone to,...

... remove it with a razor blade instead of a plastic body scraper, opps, scratch, irratated customer, buff it out, nope, not a scratch you won't, repaint, color off shade, more irrate customer, canceled deal, lost money, and customer, lost more customers through word of mouth, etc,...

..."Managers are just salespeople with their desk closer to the door",...
