San Diego's SeaWorld Adventure Park.
A killer whale injured a trainer when he grabbed the man and pinned him to the bottom of an exhibition tank.
This wouldn't be the first time entertainers have staged an accident to increase attendance. Now attendance will double and the trainer will still be in there with the whale? This trainer has been working with this whale for years and it would be a simple matter to teach the whale to grab the foot and then let go after a min. The audience would be looking for this from now on. It would seem to me that if the whale really grabbed the guy for whatever reason the natural thing would be to shake the thing that was grabbed. But then, I have no idea, you judge for yourself. |

One of my philosophies is, "Never f**k with any animal that can kill you." Whether the thing was just playing or not, the situation could've still ended with a dead trainer. Ask Stever Irwin.

Different case. Steve was in the wild. Sea world guy worked with this animal for years and trained it to do many things, One of those things could have been , Take my foot and take me to the bottom and let me go. Attendence goes way up. But I have no Idea. Ron |

Saw the show about 15 years ago, I was way far back and that was close enough for me.

A subset to the first critter law already stated is never trust a critter that eats while ya sleep and has eyes positioned at the front of the head so as to see directly forward.
Orcas are known to get an attitude and send ?messages? from time-to-time. The message could have been ?screw work today, go away and just let me be.? I can identify with an attitude like that. :re: Scamp

Any animal can turn on a "trainer", it's not as uncommon as one might think. This is not the first case of a big fish attacking one of the Sea World trainers. Luckily most live to tell the tale.
I've seen many a dog owner bitten by their own dog. I've been bitten a few times while training dogs, comes with the territory.
