Question MySpace.com

The College and High School kids talked me into getting a place on MySpace.com.

I have found it quite interesting browsing and reading what all these kids are thinking and saying.
To be honest with you its somewhat shocking for this old guy.

Keith,

Be careful on MySpace.

Lots of identity theft going on there right now.

Post I got hits from two porno sites and one

I got hits from two porno sites and one prostitute. It is interesting though. One of the kids and I keep in touch through myspace.
Todays kids are the most narcissistic I've ever seen. Sure are self absorbed. Kinda shocking. I've read the statistics but this brings it to life. These kids are using drugs, drinking and having sex and that's all they live for. Now don't get me wrong there are some really good kids out there but there sure are a lot of self absorbed kids.

MySpace is how we keep track of 2 of our children and other family & friends. We didn't join (saved all that xrated stuff) but got web addresses from the individuals.

They post things that they might not be easy to talk to Mom & Dad about. It is not just about what people want to hear.

Even though they do keep in touch, sometimes they send an email saying to check it out.

If you think giving this out is wrong, remember that he posted it on the internet.

Post If you really want to know about the younger generation:

MySpace is a place to go to learn about the younger generation. Some really great folks and some really creepy folks.

Keith, Keith--

Don't give up on "today's kids".

It's unfair to the good ones, and does little to help the others.

They have issues, just like all generations have issues.

Help them have opportunities...Please!!!

Keith,

Gracie's right...all generations have issues.

Don't forget...OUR generation was "going to hell in a handbasket" because we watched Elvis wiggle his hips.

Post Gracie,

I usually have a great relationship with kids and most people I just accept folks for what they are and love them even if I don't understand them.
I was raised on a Farm way, way, way, out in the sticks. The value system which I was raised under is so far from so many attitudes and values that it is somewhat shocking at times to see the attitudes portrayed.
We farmers pulled together at harvest time. Most didn't ask what's in it for me. We didn't have the tech toys that the kids have now days. In someways the kids are more sophisticated today, yet when it comes to the realities of life they don't have a clue. We sacrificed and helped each other.
I think for an old geezer I make a pretty good attempt to relate to the kids. Most of them give me a big hug when they seem. And I hassel them and we have a great time. But there is a real culture clash taking place within me because I don't understand some of their attitudes and opinions.
