Smile Ronald & Nancy Reagan

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4201869/

For those of you who like him alot and for those who didn't. They have a few exerts from there book with his love letters. I've read the entire book and it is something else. It shows you he wasn't just a politician but a regular guy that REALLY loved his wife.

What a great couple. Reagan is one of my hero's! I am very proud to have served under him!

I didn't truly begin to appreciate his Presidency until long after he left the office... I was so breathlessly stupid about the big picture when he came in and laid off all those air traffic controllers... never got on track with him during his time.

For me it wasn't a Union thing, but just the idea of not doing something about their grievances, which were (and maybe still are) very very serious.

The Air Controllers tried and failed, there was no way they were going to get away with stopping air traffic in the US. They should fall under the taylor act if they don't all ready.
Reagan did the right thing, IMO.

I remember Ronnie "Rayguns" and Iran-Contra and his "I don't recall"s. Who knew back then that he really didn't "recall" anything! But it wasn't a political spin, he really DIDN'T recall!

Default My favorite Reagan line

Its a tough choice:
"Trees make pollution"
Or
"Hard work never hurt anybody, but I figure; Why take the chance?"

Neither one would reserve you a place on Mt Rushmore

Rev & Lrrp -

THAT is what I came to realize too, the book mentioned on this thread went a long ways to proving a lot of decent stuff about the guy, which I appreciate learning.

Default Wax and Polish

I always wanted to know what shoe(brown)polish he was dabbing on his hair.
Then I loved it when he said, "he couldn't racall" He was telling the truth on that.. Nancy forgot to tell him what he was suppose to say.

Default Being Biased!!!!!!

One that remains in my recollection that he said:
"Some people go through life, wondering if they made a difference,
The Marines, don't have that problem".
