Global Aid for Katrina Victims
The following international agencies are on scene and providing or preparing to provide services:
International Committee of the Red Cross Lutheran World Relief United Nations Childrens' Emergency Relief Organization of International Relief Teams International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent United Nations Development Program Catholic Social Services World Health Organization United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs The following nations have offered equipment, supplies, personnel: United Kingdom Germany Venezuela Denmark Russia Holland Among the nations pledging financial assistance are: Switzerland Austria The list is incomplete. On a human interest note: Some of the TV footage of Katrina shown overseas included a few seconds of video showing a child's toy lying amid the rubble of a house. That has had the unprecented response of tens of thousands of school children around the world, especially Europe, wanting to donate their lunch money to "the little American boys and girls of Katrina".

How 'bout stopping ALL foreign aid & re-routing it to help our own people? If this threatens to put gov't 'crats out of work, give 'em a pair of waders & send 'em South.
