Texas hospital worker told she can't hang an American flag in her office

FORT WORTH, Texas—Is it appropriate to show your patriotism in the workplace? A woman in North Texas thought so, but she was shocked to find out otherwise, KTVT in Dallas reports.

Debbie McLucas comes from a military family near Fort Worth.

Her husband and several kids have all served in the armed forces.

She decided to hang an American flag in her office at the hospital where she works.

But McLucas’ supervisor, who is from another country, complained that the flag was offensive.

McLucas was ordered to take it down.

“I was told immediately it wouldn’t matter if it was only one person. It would have to come down,” she told KTVT.

McLucas said hospital officials told her the flag outside the building should be enough for now.

“I find it very frightening, because if I can’t display my flag, what other freedoms will I lose before all is said and done?” McLucas told KTVT.

Corporate officials have yet to make a final decision on whether or not McLucas can have the flag in her office.

Corporate officials: "Have to make a final decision" on a U.S. Citizen's American Flag,
While American Flag Officials are making final decisions for financial & corporate America.

That worldwide used: "Only in America" quip has sure turned into one-helluva-sick-joke.
Unfortunately that sick joke is daily played on The AVERAGE MAJORITY U.S. Citizen ONLY.

If: "Connected", minority, gay, athiest, muslim or foreign national (here even legally) or
all 6 combined, you can pretty-much do as you-damn-well-please with The American Flag...
and even burn it. For all such alluded to that national disgrace is called: "Freedom of Speech".

Whatever, and for any such A-holes finding MY/YOUR/OUR American Flag OFFENSIVE, I say:
"SCREW YOU ONE & ALL!!!,...and with the very same whole flag pole".

I wish that I had been that employee, because after all the dust had settled, I would have owned that hospital! I would have refused to take the flag down, demanded that they fire me if they didn't like the flag being displayed, then filed a wrongful termination lawsuit, with the added charge of denial of basic civil rights, i.e., denial of freedom of speech. If some shithead can burn the flag as an expression of 'freedom of speech,' then the display of said flag would also constitute an expression of speech.

I believe I told this one before but I once worked for an British owned company and since I was ususally the 1st employee to arrive at work, I raised the flag every morning. One July 3rd I brought in my Betsy Ross flag to fly in honor of the 4th. The manager, an Englishman, ordered me to take it down and put up the 50 star flag. I reminded him of the upcoming holiday and he still insisted I take it down. I told him that no foreigner is going to tell me which American flag to fly over my country. He went outside to take it down himself but I followed and, nose-to-nose, told him not to touch it. He backed down but threatened to fire me if I was ever insubordinate again. He was fired 5 months later.

Regardless, glad hearing whenever such a boob gets fired.
Betcha he got himself a high position in politics afterwards, where such types often do well?

Brice that is exactly what should have happened. This is a violation of our Freedom of Speech. This should not happen. The supervisor should be sent back to his home country if he doesn't like here. End of case.
