Cally apologizes for My Lai massacre

Cally was convicted of killing 22 civilians in the Vietnamese village of My Lai in 1968 apologized for the first time at a event near Fort Benning last Wednesday.He told the Kiwanis Club " there is not a day that goes by that I do not feel remorse for what happened that day in My Lai. I feel remorse for the Vietnamese who were killed , for their families , for the American soldiers involved and their families. I am very sorry " Cally then took questions from the audience. He did not deny that he carried out the massacre but said he was following orders -- a position he has always taken. Calley now lives in Atlanta with his 28 year old son
