My Dad ( rest his sole ) was a trucker for Yellow Transit for 32 yrs, before that is was called Michigan Motors. ( same company same amount of yrs and same bennies, but I cant even remember a st
srike let alone layoffs or just down right firing.

Just what is this 9/11 deal going to do to all of us, and mainly the younguns growing up ???

Seem like the only job you can have right now is the military, all else is in jeporady somewhere along the road to proverty.

When I reach retirement age am I going to be able to retire or is my monies sent to uncle sam going to go olong with me cause of starvation

I do pretty good alot of times, but then I have the bad oines also, but I dont go out and file Bankruptcy.

I wish I could put into more sane and welll learnt, so I could put this into the right perspective that I want, But I am just sick and tired of all these Mill/Bill s making all the money and they say they LOST.

Welcome to the "new economic age", Reeb. Its been with us for several years now and is all about who can make the biggest "killing" in the shortest amount of time. Its about making more money for less work. Hell, its about not working at all if you can avoid it.

Our whole economy is based on an illusion .. a paper chase. Everything is "on the cuff." There is no REAL wealth any more. Why do you think they are so hot to get us off cash and onto "sure-pay", ATM cards, e-dollars, credit cards and bank transfers?

They're hoping we won't notice what's really going on ... and most of us don't.

I am waiting for the day to come around, when you walk into a 7-11 or Stop and Go and have to pay for a fricking soda with a credit card, cause CASH wont be accepticle. ( Unless you have two proper forms of idenity.

I know when it is my turn to go, I wont be taken a mill or bill with me, unless I cram it up my ---. and there aint no worry there cause I aint got the big bucks anyhow..

These truckers go out each and every day and make their money to live on and support their families, and the the big man has to make a couple of thousand an hour with 15,000 drivers.

Dont they believe in profit sharing or stock options?

These drivers are not getting the Baseball figures.

these drivers put their lives on the each and every time they hit the Highway. Everyone knows that.

A rock, brick through the windsheild can do alot more damage than a fast ball or line drive.

reeb my Dad and Uncle got laid off after putting in 38 years at a papermill plant after and before WWII. He broke his back working for that place. They sold out to a corporation who fired everyone stole their pensions and my Dad got nothing to show for it as did my Uncle. My Dad had a massive coronary and never recovered enough to work too much after that and my poor uncle had to bus tables at a restaurant and went brain dead. That's what heart corporations have. I hate them! No loyalty coming from me. You are right...all they know to do is kick the little guy around. Layoffs are hell on families. We always faced them at Christmas time. Uncle Sam disabled my Dad but cheated him out of his disability that evenually killed him. Never one red cent. And corporate greed took the rest. He died as he lived but for the grace of God my mother earned a good retirement and didn't live 3 years to enjoy hers but left the remaining 3 for my grieving Dad who joined her then. I expect to go the same way. Working cause my social security check isn't going to be enough for me to live on even though I've worked since I was 15 40-60hours a week. Life isn't fair.

We are at the expense of the govt, how they want to run and we as citizens have very little say so about it.

Take a good look see at Drywalls post about three or two months ago.

His 401 plan fell through cause of the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer

Sure he still has something, but the bottom line is he aint gonna caca (sp) from the govt. or the mansions owners.

There is many many many times I go into a custom home and say " how in the hell did they do it:" Even Mary Kays house and yes the Prezs older home.

We all work and dont have very much to show for it except " OUR PRIDE". That is one thing that the govt cant take away no matter how far. Or the RICH that take the monies and run.

Just out of curiosity how much did you get for a XMAS bonus last year for the work that breaks you down mentally and physically??
