November-9588Yankee at 9000 feet
Bits on the stick, me on the camera...
When they coined the phrase "Officer and a Gentleman" they must have had Bits in mind. What a sweetheart he is and such a kind man. Completely looking out for my well being. I had a wonderful day flying with him to the Gaston White River Resort in the Ozarks. Having brunch with him. Sitting and talking with him. He landed his plane on a grassy air strip that is unusual to say the least. I was expecting it to be a little rough and we floated to earth like a feather. It blew my mind. The man is a master at the controls. We had a lot of cloud cover on the return trip and when he decided to go under it he found a hole and began to circle something that I had never done. We would pass through dense cloud and then break out and then through cloud again. He asked me if I was getting air sick and I answered no. But let me tell you I was doin' some "Our Father's" until we got clear of those clouds. I knew he knew what he was doin' but I kept wonderin' what else might be in those clouds that we weren't seein'. I wouldn't have missed it for the world though. He had a problem with his lights and so his trip home has taken longer than expected. Last I heard he was in Fort Worth. Thank you Bits for a trip that I will always remember. You kept your word to me and didn't let me down. It was an honor for me to be flyin' with one of the best this country has. One of the Few, The Proud, A Marine. Arrow>>>>>

WOW!
How wonderful that you two got together! Great pics also. Still waiting on Bits to fly to Beaufort so he can check out one of his ol' CH46's that he flew in Vietnam. It's still being used at the Marine Corps Air Station for Search and Rescue.
Looks like you guys had a wonderful time! Packo

I do so enjoy reading and seeing pictures from the people of this net when they get togeather. So far we are batting 1000 all good encounters, Hum wonder what the spin doctors of the press would say about that. Sis I enjoyed your story and to Bits thanks a bunch for taking care of our sis.

You are both very dear to my heart. Everybody I have met is like coming home. I am sure it was the same for you.
