A Test In Reality

Since the "War to End All Wars", and the "Great War", how many more wars have we fought in, and how many "Magnificently Patriotic Americans" have died or been maimed, physically and mentally?

Since the Cold War Ended has the peace and prosperity promised after the (virtual) demise of the Soviet Union really come to pass?

Do you really have it better now than you did, say in the late 1950s?

Now that many nations possess nuclear potential, do you feel any safer than you did when (say) only one or two did?

Do you believe that everything that the people are being told is absolute fact?

Do you believe that all of those nations that we put back on their feet after each and every war we engaged in, really respect our act of humanity, or do you believe that some of them perceive our kindness and compassion as acts of weakness?

Do you think that terrorism is an act of desperation, conducted by second rate countries, or do you believe that to these people, killing and destruction is an inbred way of life? "The only way of life that they know or can embrace?"

Do you think that we can really buy friends and allies?

Do you believe that the United Nations will ever meet the potential that we envisioned in it, or will it to be eventually discarded along the way as just another rainbow-colored pipe dream, much as the League of Nations was?

Do you feel that our politicians, each and every one, is dedicated to the ideals upon which this (our nation) was founded? Or do you believe that a scant few are nothing more genuine than opportunists and me-ists? And that even a minority of our leaders are naught but power hungry fools, who regardless of public image and verbal commitment, are out for themselves and their political backers alone?

Do you believe that ?SOME? wars are begun to blow smoke rings or to mask the fact that certain politicians are incompetent when it comes to domestic affairs or the everyday challenges that go into running a nation?

Do you believe that the prime mandate of a politico, any politico, is the will and well-being of his (or her) own nation, and that ego or self-deification have no place in the running of a democracy?

Do you believe that the will of the majority must prevail and that some special interests must be put in their place - be that interest of a purely monetary, power-based, religious, or sexual orientation stature? A "Special Interest" must be viewed as just that - "A SPECIAL INTEREST THAT BENEFITS BUT THE FEW, and sometimes even the sordid?"

Do you believe that each and every one of us shares a voice and a responsibility toward this nation. A mandate to leave our country just a little better off for our having been here?

Do you believe that God should be pushed out of our way of life, our documentation of existence, our schools, our coinage, and our philosophy, merely to satiate the whims or hatreds of a disfunctional minority?

Do you still believe in equal justice, and that justice is often more equal for those with power and means than to the little people?

Do you believe that illegal immigration is totally out of hand and uncontrolled by certain elements, both domestic and foreign? And this, even with the magnificent job being attempted by our Border Patrol and other dedicated law enforcement agencies? Agencies that have had their hands (virtually) ties by foreign demand and even some domestic capitulation!

Do you believe that we will always need at least one enemy to hate, in order to survive and thrive as a nation? ?And is this not a truly sad fact of life in the fast lane??

Do you believe that government should lead by example, and not by dictate alone, and that no element of that government (bureaucracy) should have the right to cover its own transgressions through lies, record elimination or alteration, or the destruction of a person's life just to cover the odious deeds of someone who is well connected?

Do you believe in the wisdom of "Our Founding Fathers" and in the words embodied within our Constitution, it?s Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence from any and all entities who would attempt to control our destiny?

Do you also believe in our sovereignty, the Monroe Doctrine, and that it is entirely possible that some among us are here merely to contort and twist the meanings of these magnificent documents, and thereby turn us into the very thing that our parents and grandparents came here to escape?

Do you believe that when a vote is cast by the majority, that nobody, even a minority group of powerful beings, has the right to declare that vote null and void because the outcome did not serve their agenda?

And do you believe that an issue that is put up for a vote by popular mandate should be overturned by but one or two malcontents who seek to promote some vile or degenerate way of life?

Do you believe that our elected government is answerable to the will of the people, and that these electees are not elevated to royalty or godhood at the public polls?

Do you believe that it is the right and duty of the majority to recall or even impeach any elected official who violated a sacred trust or election promise, and that these recalls should be immediate and not one that consumes months or even years?

Do you feel that any public official so disgraced, resigned or removed from office, should be afforded the perks, gifts, honors and kudos of a truly honorable man?

Do you feel that lying in office is grounds for removal?

And last, but not least, ?DO YOU BELIEVE IN OUR COUNTRY?, and feel that unreasonable demands made upon us by ?ANY? foreign nation should be treated with contempt and dismissed. And that when our national security, sovereignty, equal rights, and even our survival (or the survival of our troops, our veterans, our aged, our taxpayers, our middle class and our poor) is challenged or threatened from any quarter, domestic or foreign, that problem must be addressed, even before the demands or whim of any foreign minded entity?

* Well I do, and if that makes me a bad person, an outcast, not a team player, or just a goddamned fool, then so be it - ?I CAN LIVE WITH IT!?

Can however, those who have sold their and our souls to alien interests, or abandoned their own people in favor of foreign or other vested image and international celebrity, live with it?

?Apparently, some of them, regardless of party affiliation (or lack of it) can, and are damned happy to do so I might add!? ?The damned shame is that we continually seek to elect people like these to positions of power!!? And with them, they inevitable drag along their odious cohorts, lackeys, and mindless bureaucratic tag-alongs!

Just ask many a veteran how much good and justice they have extracted from the system that he or she gave his (or her) youth and health to protect and defend! The same system that he is again at war with to attain that which was promised to him in the way of benefits or medical care?!

Just how long are our memories, and are they good for at least another 409 days (plus or minus)!?

Although not nearly as politically or patriotically significant as the Fourth of July, - MMIV THIS WAY COMES!!? And the world ?WILL? definitely be affected, one way or another, by what shakes loose in November of 2004!? :cd:
