Default Where were you on November, 22 1963 ?

I was in 10th grade study hall after lunch in the school library. I heard someone scream up the hall near the office and then loud crying.
The other day while cleaning out some storage rooms, I found a lot of my high school newspapers ( The Paw Print...as we were the Wildcats ). I have the one published right after this that describes the thoughts and feelings that day. I can remember in 7th grade science class on the second floor of Westside High School in Memphis, looking down as people were voting for Kennedy and Nixon for President...

A few days later, I had went out on our front porch, as it was warm that day, about the time Oswald was shot, so I missed the event that has been replayed billions of times.

I, as many others, have done a lot of research into JFK's presidency and why he was murdered. The three things that he wanted to do : Dismember the CIA, abolish the Federal Reserve Bank ( he had already printed money that did not have that at the top... I have a $ 5 bill.. ), and withdraw the troops from South East Asia ( he had already signed the order ) sealed his fate.

After I did the research, in my mind he became an heroic figure. To stand up against the forces who work behind the scenes to manipulate and destroy our country, knowing full well that he would be killed.

As I have said many times...the best book I have read about this coup is "Kill Zone: A Sniper Looks at Dealey Plaza", by Craig Roberts. This is his website :

I pray that the Kennedy family can find some measure of peace.

I was attached to FAETUPAC DET II upper Northwest. Our base was put on alert and we were shut down. No one was to leave the base. We were waiting to see just what had happen. At that time it was thought that Cuba was involved and we weren't sure what was going to happen.

This was not too long after the Bay of Pigs incident.

Post I was working in a Machine Shop

I was working in a machine shop in Sunnyvale, CA. One of the machinists who had a little radio by his machine informed us all that President Kennedy had been shot. It was a long solemn day after that.

Default In college

At Trinity University, in San Antonio. Place went into a shut-down mode, rightfully so. The biggest trauma I encoutered later was when I was almost attacked, physically, by a liberal professor, who insisted that Kennedy's death was all a right-wing plot. Poor, deluded old man was so convinced by his obsessive hatred that he was incapable of any other point of view.

Junior in High School, and it came across the loud speaker that school was dismissed, and about 5 minutes later we found out.

At that time there was only about 250 students in the whole High School classes, and it stunned all of us outside listening to the radios in the cars and smoking our smokes.

enough...........

Just out of UNTC, San Diego, in X Co., Long Beach Naval Station, waiting my ship to come in, literally. The base was secured and buttoned up with Marines dashing here and there, for what I don't know. As I recall I overheard a conversation between two of the Co. Master at Arms. I don't recall I was ever directly told nor was I given anything to do out or the ordinary. Ordinary was hanging out and waiting for the ship.

La Paz Bolivia...

What a bunch of youngsters I'm hangin' with. Most of you still in the class room while I'm in the middle of a revolution...

The message came over the phone by a man I didn't know. He spoke in broken English "Kennedy has been shot" and hung up the phone...
