November 27, 1965 (Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Defense): Delta Company, 1 RAR, clears the double hamlet of Chin Duch/Duc Hanh.

November 27, 1966 (Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): An SAS patrol kills one VC south west of Thua Tich.

November 27, 1967 (Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): Operation Klamath Falls starts in Ninh Thuan Province.

November 27, 1967 (Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): The 135th AHC supports 1 ATF for the first time.

November 27, 1967 (Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): A/7/17th Cavalry supports TF 22 in Pleiku Province.

November 27, 1967 (Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): Project Delta forces begin Operation Sultan missions in the Plei Trap Valley after the Battle of Dak To in Operation Macarthur.

November 27, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Operation Toan Thang II update: US forces battle a VC battalion three miles southeast of Tay Ninh City.

Around the first week of DEC66 all 3 rifle battalions of the 1st brigade, 101st Abn. Div. does a CA into the Plei Trap and Dak Akoi valleys, kicking off Operation Pickett. These valleys are 20-25mi. west of Kontum. Some of the steepest mountains in Nam rises out of these valleys. This was the first time in the war when a whole brigade was moved from one place to another in less than 48hrs.. We do Search and Destroy operations in these mountains until the end of JAN67. My company has 10 KIA before we leave there. Definately a scary, dangerous place.
