History Repeats Itself?

Back during the Cuban Missile Crisis of the early 60s, President Kennedy avowed that any attack by a hostile nation against the United States would be considered a direct attack by the Soviet Union against Homeland America!

So what would JFK?s response have been had the ?Missiles of October? been loosed upon the United States? Would he have engaged in a limited response? Would he have merely invaded that enemy nation (or region), inflicting a non-lethal bloody nose upon the vicious aggressors?

?WRONG ON BOTH COUNTS!!? Kennedy would have more than likely have let loose with all barrels, probably signaling the onset of Armageddon Itself!

So what would be the reaction now, should a huge dirty bomb, a tremendous biological attack, or a massive chemical assault be loosed upon our shores, murdering hundreds of thousands of American Patriots? Would we invade the enemy bastion again, or would we respond in kind, only trebled? Or would we, like Kennedy, let the non-friendly world know the true meaning of ?Mutually Assured Destruction!?? No war, after all, was ever won with a Chamberlainesque grovel you know! They were won by letting the enemy know that if he takes a finger, we take his entire lower torso! And if he takes out a city, his entire nation is immediately toasted!!

Never in our history have we been so devastatingly armed, but have opted not to use our overwhelming superiority to insure that the enemies of mankind fear to even consider the likes of 9/11 again!! And as horrific as it was, the decision by Truman to drop Little Boy and Fat Man, did save countless American lives in a long run! No diplomacy here, just total war, and as General W.T. Sherman said - ?WAR IS HELL!? But then, better their Hell than ours!!

What truly amazes me, however, is that (for the first time in history), a scant few nations who have proven that they are two faced liars, users and cheats, are trying to dictate policy to us via the United Nations and other festering enclaves!! What is worse is, that like Neville Chamberlain, there are still those in our midst who would fatally humble themselves before these human dogs!

Granted, we must remain a friend to our friends, but does not the Monroe Doctrine prohibit foreign interference in the affairs of this and other American nations? And is not what Russia, Germany, and France, etc now doing - an attempt to fatally interfere with our very survival - monetary, politically, and militarily alike? ?WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE, SO TO SPEAK!!???

?As for the United Nations itself, there is about as much reality and substance there as there is in a fart at the stroke of midnight, in my own personal opinion!!?

Indeed, be a friend to the world of our friends, but never a slave to those who seek to accomplish through lies, deceit, deception, double-cross, and intrigues, what they could never even hope to accomplish through force of arms! ?One does not, after all, dissuade an attacker or an aggressor by offering an outstretched hand, usually filled with American Greenbacks or/or American Blood! Nor does he win a war by fighting under the other guy?s rules!!?

Still, you must admit that most of your: "Opinions" stated here are based on actual historical facts and realities and a historically absurd and an American political world class naivete,...especially regarding our MANY (both at home and abroad) avowed enemies wishing to either destroy us or merely change America to "Their" liking.

Hope it will be eventually realized that America CANNOT BUY FRIENDS (both at home and abroad)? After all, about 60 years of failing to do so, plus vast sums of Taxpayer Monies wasted, must prove: "Beyond the shadow of doubt" to even the most feeble in authority...that MONEY & FRIENDSHIP (plus Honor and Allegiance) just don't mix.

Naturally, one must exclude The United Nations from what I've stated, since for The UN...MONEY (and especially American MONEY) IS EVERYTHING!!! Without such,...The UN would have about as much worldly importance and significance as a hot dog stand in Mecca or Paris. Probably even less?

HC as usual you don't pull any punches. The "truth" is known by many but no one will make that big decision. The idealism is gone and the back-stabbing issues are at hand. Two-faced is too light a term but good enough for this site.

Pulling foreign aide can control much of this but I fear our economic issues are more important so many are looking the otherway.

Why did this happen? Oil shortages or any threat of cutoffs drive most of the issues.

To be truly independent of those 3rd world countries and some of our so called allies we have to become more capable of taking care of our own needs.

True dependency is the only way we've become too dependent on others (outside of our country). We no longer hold the winning hand we've passed all the good cards to other players and we are left with old maid.

It's true we are mighty (arms wise) we have people willing to loose their lives for a cause. This country has to drop back balance our budgets and then pull in the purse strings to those countries who would say one thing then do another.

The hole is so deep I'm not sure if they can do this anytime soon. If there was an answer I'm sure they would've played the trump card already.
