Gutting America?

Like a newly caught (and still writhing in pain) flounder, portions of America are reeling under the fiscal attacks that are now being levied against them by government itself!

It would appear that everything (and everyone), save for those firmly entrenched within the inner sanctums of the hierarchy, are being tapped to pay for the current (justified) war upon terrorism. And let us never forget the expense incured in supplying the good life to the political sect and their big-business supporters!

This diatribe, in itself, is not an exercise in sour grapes on my part, but rather the dynamics that go into the making of an "Exclusively - Politically and Diplomatically Consumed Champagne!" And this extremely costly brew is an artificial and expensively carbonated concoction that is being manufactured and consumed - by that government that (once upon a time) existed to exercise only the will of the hoi polloi (the common people)!

Granted, a few (damned few) "Domestic American Issues" have been addressed in a positive light by our current leaders. This includes the splendid idea of increasing death benefits to the mounting numbers of fallen heroes in the ongoing war against terrorism! "I do, however, hope that these expanded death (and other) benefits and kudos will include those who have already fallen, as they too must be remembered!?"

Of course, the good that is accomplished is only undertaken when the ?Powers That Be? are not too busy perfecting their "Domestic Conservative, Foreign Liberal Agenda? , or constantly showing the door to the growing numbers of ?Cabinet Deadwood that has fallen along the political roadway!" (opinion)

This agenda, however, is fast turning into one where needed programs that benefit the people who pay the bills, are being scrapped in order to keep a big spending government rolling (over us) along smoothly!

While providing for needed National Security, and of course, planning for a half-way decent (?) retirement that may be totally devoid of Social Security Benefits or a safety net of any kind, some in power still appear to be ?Hell-Bent On Impre$$ing & $upporting The World!?

And who will pay (as always) for this international extravaganza - our working class, our retired, our infirmed, our elderly and our own poor, of course. Certainly not the super rich, the politically powerful, or the overly connected!

I do, however, have a poignant question, especially in light of this current, ?Roosevelt (FDR) In Reverse Agenda?? "After completing the term limits that are currently placed upon public office, will some then seek to expand upon these limits, or possibly even take over the reins of power from Kofi Annon at that ?Decrepit Old United Nations!?? (Only kidding of course!)

After all, with what I perceive to be the ?Rape of Domestic America? now in full swing (opinion), the wealth of experience gained locally by those who now practice their arts on a somewhat narrower scale, may eventually be utilized in that (so-called) world body (U.N.)

This may (?) indeed be attempted someday by anyone (or a group there-of) who?s ambition transcends anything as limiting as a mere continent!? (another opinion)
