New Recruit old Soldier
Thirty Eight years ago today I went into the Army. Went to Fort Jackson for in processing and Basic E-2-1 on Tank Hill. Will never forget Drill Sergeant Mai, and will never forget drag ass hill. I thought basic training would never end. Went to Fort Polk for AIT, my two best memories there was week 5 when we became blue men, and when I left. Then off to Nam in September of 1967 for my first tour in Nam. I look back now on that time in my life with both fond and sad memories. I was damn glad I was fighting in the US Army instead of Against it. (all the different emotions I went through in the Army.
