With the fire season fast approaching, and the memory of the costly and destructive Cedar Fire still (semi) fresh in our minds, we here in San Diego County are taking no chances this time around!

In an area that is either feast of famine (Rain-Wise), the massive amounts of ague, aqua-pura, H2O, or what ever you want to call it, that fell a short time back, was a mixed blessing!

Granted, it gave the ground a good wetting, but when the rain soaked in, as it quickly does around here, it sparked an explosion of growth. Weeds and grasses sprang up so fast that keeping it cut back was virtually impossibility! And as always happens hereabouts, the vegetation quickly dried out leaving a massive carpet of bone-dry and inflammable brush. That equals big trouble fire-wise as the temperatures begin to soar into the 90s and 100s!

Well, to make a long story short, as the countryside dries up, all eyes begin to meander to the south and the International Border - about a mile or so away, where lightening, spontaneous combustion, illegal camp fires, or even an over-heated fart, can start a massive brush fire that quickly (depending upon the winds) spreads northward!

The train of thought in Mexico (in the past years) has been to just let these fires burn themselves out. Our fire departments, however, are ever alert to these Mexican Fires , as they can quickly incinerate United States land as well as Mexican property!

This year, however, our own Yankee Fire Departments have decided to get a jump on the fire season. North of the Border Fire Units have begun (with Mexico?s permission I believe) to clear away brush on both sides of the Border. Our people are even training Mexican Fire Fighters , who even lack chainsaws, on knocking down fires quickly!

Of course, Mexican personnel are not allowed, according to the media, to cross to our side of the border to fight these fires . Considering this, I can not help but wonder why? Unless of course, Uncle Sam figures that after the fires are beaten down on our side of the International line, any Mexican Fire fighters standing on U.S. Soil, just might decide to continue on northward and forget to go home!

Damn-it-all Rick.
Even regarding fire-fighting, both The American and Mexican policies, directives, regulations, rules, cave-ins or whatever political lunacies control (actually don't control) The Border,...JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE.

Well, at least DON'T MAKE SENSE to any SANE PEOPLE realizing that there are MANY thousands out there daily sneaking into America, for the avowed and sole intent of killing as many American men, women and children (babies also) as are physically possible,...and anyway possible.

Besides, and given all the absurdities surrounding this latest politically-correct warfare DEMANDED or ORDERED against terrorists and terrorism overall, it wouldn't surprise me one lick if any Mexican Firefighters brought here to America for training were actually and in reality...FIRE STARTERS and/or incindiery TERRORIST SPECIALISTS. Guess I'm just not a very foolishly naive or trusting sort, such as are most politicos or political leaders, and especially regarding foreign countries and foreign nationals?
Sane, sensible, logical and into survival and sovereignty,...of course.

Many of our own people don't!

And I doubt if even the architects know with all certainty what they are doing, or what the final outcome may be? If they do, they sure as Hell have not told me or anyone else that I know of!
