?Some areas are just not meant to endure much moisture! A prime example of this is Southern California!?

Every time that one of our half-century-old water pipes develops leaks, it erodes away the earth that it rests in (mostly sand), creates a sinkhole, and gobbles up whatever lies above it- roads, houses, cars, people, cattle, and cats and dogs included!

Hillsides as well, are prone to erosion, mass wasting, etc., in this region! This is evident in Laguna Beach, Oceanside, etc., and with all of the rain, and the soil at saturation levels - the mantle is beginning to creep down hill like liquid manure! Entire neighborhoods in fact, are (involuntarily) making their way down hill, and homes in the affected areas, are collapsing faster than worn-out houses of cards!

?So welcome to paradise!? If it isn?t landslides, if it is not brush fires, if it ain?t massive immigration, if it is not earthquakes or the inevitable tsunamis - it is air and water pollution, high crime rates, job deportation to the south of the border, etc., etc.

But not to worry, just think of all of the plus factors here in ?Eden Revisited?? Lime ticks, spotted fever ticks, rabies, the occasional case of plague, a nearly bankrupt economy, a local government that is constantly at each other?s throats, political pandering and the recent City (political) indictments of bureaucrats over the local Stripper-gate fiasco! And of course, let us never forget ?LOVELY TIJUANA? and it?s associated vices! And this den of iniquity lays right next door to America?s finest City!

?Now what in the Hell more could you expect or ask of any place to call home??

Except for: "Lime ticks" and; "LOVELY TIJUANA",........
It sounds like scenic downtown and suburbs New Joisey, to me.

Still, and in fairness to California, at least all Renters and Condo/Homeowners there have Proposition 13 and/or a fair 1% of purchase cost property tax.

Here in New Jersey, both Renters and Condo/Homeowners are forced contending with: "The highest property taxes in America" that politicians can dictate, and main reason for many retirees moving out of such a NOT very retiree-friendly (unless destitute) and NOT very resident-friendly (unless destitute) State.
