How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property?

Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the
EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class
holiday postage stamp.

REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp
when purchasing your stamps at the post office.
To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those
AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know

You better believe I'm going to boycott that stamp. I buy stamps that have the American Flag, and Purple Heart Stamps.

The U.S Postal Service has NOT issued, nor is it planning on issuing, a stamp commemorating Islam.

The EID stamp is ONE of a SERIES of stamps commemorating HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS around the world. Other stamps in the series are Kwanzaa, Hanukka, Thanksgiving, Cinco de Mayo, and Christmas.

The EID stamp commemorates the two major holidays of the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

The word "eid" is roughly equivalent to the English word "celebration" or "festival." The three-day Eid al-Fitr celebrates the end of the month-long fasting of Ramadan; the three-day Eid al-Adha commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son in response to God's command.

The HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS stamp series was issued in 1998, before President Bush took office.

The EID stamp was issued BEFORE 9-11 and before the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The EID stamp is a regular First Class Postage issue, so the only financial impact of not buying the stamp will be on the employees of the U.S. Postal Service.

Ramadan commemorates the revelation of God's word in the holy Koran to the prophet Mohammed ? a word that is read and recited with special attention and reverence during this season. In the past month, Muslims have fasted from food and water during daylight hours, in order to refocus their minds on faith and redirect their hearts toward charity.

Muslims worldwide have stretched out a hand of mercy and help to those most in need. Charity tables, at which the poor can break their fast, line the streets of cities and towns. And gifts of food, clothing, and money are distributed to ensure that all share in God's abundance. Customs vary between countries, from illuminating lanterns in Egypt, to lighting firecrackers in Pakistan, to inviting elders to traditional feasts in Niger. Around the world, families, neighbors, and friends gather to share traditional foods and congratulate each other on meeting the test of Ramadan.

The spirit behind this holiday reminds us that Islam brings hope and comfort to millions of people in my country, and to more than a billion people worldwide. Ramadan is also an occasion to remember that Islam gave birth to a rich civilization of learning that has benefited mankind.

Here in the United States, Muslims have made many contributions in business, science, law, medicine, education, and other fields. Muslim members of our Armed Forces, and of my Administration, are serving their fellow Americans with distinction, upholding our Nation's ideals of liberty and justice in a world at peace.

I would be surprised if you CAN still get it at the Post Offices.

It was issued almost five years ago at the 34 cent rate.

Maybe so but the stamp in the attachment from my Sister says 37 cents on it.

If the US Gov't says One nation under God is unconstitutional, due to the word GOD, when is the Post Office (US POST OFFICE) isssuing stamps with a representation of a muslim god. God is God no matter what religion you practice. What about the song God Bless America is some one going to ask a judge to out law that song because it mentions GOD..
