Same Old Backstroke?

The United States is now swimming in a whole new river. One that is loaded with whirlpools, rapids, piranha and undertows. But yet, there are those in power who continue to splash around in dangerous waters like they are enjoying a Sunday afternoon outing at the same old and familiar swimming hole! Might I remind you all that World War II also started out on a serene Sunday morning, in a tropical paradise!

We are currently in a war that threatens to engulf the entire Middle East, and maybe even the world for that matter? Our borders are leaking like sieves, the United Nations and world demands seem to mean more to some of our leaders than anything as trivial as public opinion or the public welfare, the manufacturing community has all but abandoned the nation that gave it life, and yet, it is still vested business as usual in the hallowed and stoic halls of government?

The warnings have been sounded, but apparently no one is listening? And in the past, like those troubling times of the late 1930’s, a nearly terminal public apathy has all but engulfed our minds, our morality, our sense of values, as well as the very land that we inhabit!
