My upcoming trout fishing trip ...
Looks like I will finally get a chance to catch some trout ( it will my first time ) this weekend. My wife's aunt has some land and a trailer near the Little Red River not far from Greers Ferry Dam.
Here are some of the records from that area :
Michael Huey Manley caught a 38-pound, 9-ounce world record brown trout from the North Fork River, Carl Jones caught a 20-pound, 12-ounce brown trout on 2-pound-test line from the White River, and Howard Rip Collins landed a 40-pound, 4-ounce world record brown trout from the Little Red River. ( not far from where I will be ... )
I hope the weather is not too bad. I will take lots of pictures. I believe there is a restriction on the size you can catch, so I hope I catch at least one big enough to eat. I may just pay for a guide so I will be sure to catch some reasonably sized fish.
I understand they have rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook
trout as well as bream, bass and more...
I have been going fishing since before I could walk ( I have a photo of me in a play pen when I was about a year old in 1949 at Pickwick Dam, while my father was fishing from the bank... )
