Exclamation House Passed A Bill Not Even Written Waxman-Markey carbon-cap bill

House Passed A Bill Not Even Written

From the Washington Examiner:

On the House floor

By: David Freddoso
06/26/09

By all appearances, the House is about to vote on a very long bill of which it has no completed official copy.

Texas Republican Reps. Joe Barton and Louie Gohmert have just asked the chair whether there exists a complete, updated copy of the Waxman-Markey carbon-cap bill.

"If a bill for which there is no copy were to actually pass this body," Barton asked, "could the bill without a copy be sent to the Senate for its consideration?"

Through a series of parliamentary inquiries, the Republicans learned that the 300-plus page managers’ amendment, added to the bill last night in the House Rules Committee, has not even been been integrated with the official copy of the 1,090-page bill at the House Clerk’s desk, let alone in any other location. The two documents are side-by-side at the desk as the clerk reads through the instructions in the 300 page document for altering the 1,090 page document.

But they cannot be simply combined, because the amendment contains 300 pages of items like this: "Page 15, beginning line 8, strike paragraph (11)…" How many members of Congress do you suppose have gone through it all to see how it changes the bill?

Global Warming is apparently so urgent that we can’t even wait until members of Congress know what they’re voting on.
No wonder we were unable to find a copy of this bill online. Apparently, there is no complete copy anywhere.

Yet it passed anyway.

Which means that Congress is not just passing bills that have not been read by anyone.

They are now passing bills that haven’t even been written.

It was OPPOSED by GREENPEACE. Maybe some folks will have second thoughts when their incumbent's name comes up for vote in 2010, and forget about Party affiliation. All the costs of this bill will be passed on to us by higher energy prices and more. Wake Up !!!

Flush Congress in 2010 !!!

Good thinking, Larry.

Still, will Queen Nancy Pelosi permit it being publicly disclosed as to whom of Her Lackies
actually voted for the carbon-cap bill and/or LARGEST TAX INCREASE in American History?

I personally don't think so,...since Pelosi & Obama run a pretty-slick & slippery Ship of State.
Both Authoritarian Rulers will likely blame all Great Product & Utility Increa$e$ no doubt
coming due same bill,...on Bush.

Such duplicities always worked quite well for years.
Soooooooooooooo,...why not similarly so deceive The American People now also?

So, these are the geniuses we elected, so smart that they know how to vote before even reading the phookin' bill? Hey, this isn't the first time this little trick was pulled. And I'll bet that very few Republicans/Conservatives voted for this POS, but all the liberals did. So where's the resident liberal/socialist supporter to defend this tax-raising POS? Isn't amanzing how silent our resident socialists have become? Good riddance, is all I can say.

Exclamation

...

These tactics were necessary because if the American public had time to read and digest the bill, they would have marched on Washington with torches and pitchforks.

Consider some of the insane, Constitution-eradicating "features" of just the Waxman-Markey Energy Tax Manager's Amendment, gleefully applauded by Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama upon its razor-thin passage Friday.

The exact same tactics were done with the bill authorizing the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the "financial bailout" disaster bill last Septmeber. When will Americans wake the f--- up ?
