Friends Of The Border Patrol!

Starting tomorrow, September 16, 2005, a new group will take up the challenge of assisting our hard-pressed Border Patrol. The group known as ?Friends of the Border Patrol? will keep a vigilant eye on our southern most floodgates, the ?International Border.?

Naturally, after the recent presence of the Minute Men who attempted to do a similar job, protestors could again be a fact of life. However, these ?Friends of the Border Patrol? have made it clear that all they intend upon doing is reporting alien border jumpers to the nearest Border Patrol Substation. And by the Border Patrol?s own admission, they are stretched exceedingly thin!

The concept of ?Friends of the Border Patrol? is actually nothing new. Many years ago, ranchers along this volatile border grouped together and named themselves the ?Border Riders.? Then too, although not as much as now, a cry went up from the south side of the border!

?Now let?s get down to brass tacks!? This is a ?Sovereign Nation? and not the ?Estados Unidos de Norte Mexico!!? This is our nation and not an adjunct to Mexico. I am sure that some of these protestors are genuine in their concerns, but then so are these ?Friends of the Border Patrol.? The only difference is - ?THIS IS OUR NATION THAT IS UNDER ECONOMIC ATTACK!!?

If our citizens wish to take the time to peacefully patrol our borders and report those who seek to violate same, then I say all the more power to them! What kind of citizen, after all, does it take to tear down our borders and surrender (literally) U.S. Territory and assets to an alien entity, or agents thereof?

As a little addendum, we had all better realize that the mounting troubles along our borders are not just going to fade away. Burying our heads under a growing mound of mud and excrement will not stop any potential economic, social, or even criminal invasion from the south!

And for the record, if you think that this is strictly a Southwestern Border problem, then I invite you to examine the increase in crime within your own areas! Many illegals immediately journey northward and eastward after crossing the border.

Granted, many fairly decent people who cross our borders, even on an illegal basis, do so to better their lot. And although this is not legal and a blatant violation of our sovereignty, I can understand their plight. A small faction of these people, however, bring with them their corrupt baggage. The sad habits and traits that, although unacceptable even in their own country of origin, are downright criminal here!

Unfortunately, some of these people have no intention of changing their ways. Rather, they and elements of their native governments, fully expect (make that demand) that we change ours to suit them!

When, in our often illustrious history (until now that is), have we permitted or allowed any foreign power, or agents thereof - be they domestic or imported , to dictate to our own elected officials, as to who we will, and who we will not, allow entrance to?

Great Britain once attempted to tell us how to live and we bloody well did not accept it! Other foreign powers as well, have at times interfered with our way of life and laws, and in the process, have scoffed at our borders, and this included Mexico itself. "This was not acceptable back in 1916, so why is it now being tolerated?"

A good neighbor we should always be, but when we offer up our hand in friendship, only the disrespectful attempt to cut off and abscond with the whole arm! As such, might I respectfully suggest that the Alien Nation of Mexico (and points south) re-evaluate their agenda, either that, or close off our borders completely, and this includes to the President of that nation Himself!! For after all is said and done, he too is but a guest of the United States when here, and not our lord and master!!

Of course again, these are but my own personal opinions....
