(Dedicated to my mother – 7 May 1922 to 6 May 2020) Anyone with any real life experience behind them, has witnessed a great deal within their progressing lives that just might be considered droll or even common place to others? But to a few, as it was with even “The Illustrious Mark Twain”, these amazing little vignettes just might open up a whole new world of thought, wonders, and maybe even adventure itself! The problem is that far too many of us, myself included at times, tend to look back upon their passing years as being just common place? Whereas, in retrospect, I have learned that many of these things were not boring at all, at least not to those who’s whole lives may have been spent doing what-ever it was that motivated them or their peers (often by necessity) alone, until that day finally arrives when they awaken no more! “But alas, who is a person like me to reflect so candidly upon the backbone of our very existence or even upon the grease that lubricates the ever-turning wheels of this progressive society of ours?” What amazes me the most however, are those people who lament (usually in their waning years), over lost opportunities, and maybe even the intrinsic value of free thought itself! Or those habitual conformists who have spent their entire lifetime amassing power and fame, and this at the expense of others, as in my opinion, these people have never really lived at all, but rather, they have just existed! Whereas, and even though lacking in any great physical prowess myself, I still think and move freely about under my own power and motivation – “For Therein Resides Anyone’s True Wealth”, in my opinion!
