At what Legion or VFW post have you not been welcomed? And I have never heard of volunteers not being allowed to join.
I volunteered, early Vietnam era, and was welcomed. What experiences are you talkin' about? If you've been mistreated we'll have to send a posse over and already have a cranky well-armed impatient garrison in your area... so, what gives?
